TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. AUSTRALIANS ARE EASIER. NEW ZEALAND ISSUES FLUCTUATE. (By Telegraph—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. The markets were again fairly active 011 call* this morning, but prices tended to be fractionally weaker for Australian miscellaneous shares. The early sections contained little of inteiest, apart from an improvement in quotations. New Zealand Refrigerating had buyers at 19 11 and sellers £1 0 3, and Guarantee Corporations fell back a few pence to final sales at 4, 11, but the other issues, until the brewery class, were practically unaltered. New Zealand Breweries (con.) moved up to £1 14. 6 with further buyers at the same price and sellers at £1 15/, and the fully paids had a market between £2 9,-9 and £2 10 3. Electrolytic Zinc preferences dropped sd, and fell away to £2 17/3. Anthony Hovderns, with a market from 18. 7 to 19/, seemed easier. Broken Hill Proprietaries joined in the tendency towards fractionally weaker prices, with sales Id lower, but Hume Pipes (Australia) and British Tobaccos maintained the strength noted yesterday.
Iti New Zealand issues Wilsons Cements had lower selling offers of £1 2 6. and buyers back to £1 1 10. Woolworths were quiet, the rights being quoted between £4 1. and £4 2/. Consolidated Bricks were close to late rates. On the other hand. Shillings, Limited, improved. Farmers' Fertilizers were firmer at buyers £1 I.', and New Zealand Drugs, cum dividend, finished with buyers at £3 14/3, and sellers at £3 15/. Confirmation of the firming tendency in Grey River Dredging was found in the first sale since the shares were 6/3 paid, at 6 9.
