FARMERS SUFFER
CANADIAN HEAT WAVE TOLL. OTTAWA, July 7. The Canadian Bureau of Statistics reports that heat waves, with a further decline in the crop prospects, are extending the drought area. Wheat rust is appearing in Manitoba and Alberta, and the matter is so serious that the Federal Minister of Agriculture has cancelled his holiday to Calgary and is returning to Ottawa to prepare greater relief. Fiftv per cent of the crop is the highest yield which is hoped for. Owing to the imminence of a feed famine the Government is urging farmers to market their stock.
