J. FRYER'S TEAM. % NLXE HORSES TAKEN. Following on his good display at Awapuni the Chief .Ruler gelding Flying Chief was included in J. Fryer's team leaving for Australia to-day. The team consists of nine horses —Tout le Moiule, Flying Chief. Wotan, Black Friar, Wed Manfred, China Clipper, Pantoon, International and Elanage. They are all in' tip-top order and should strike form early, and the prospects Ot several look promising. The rising three-year-old Pantoon, by MUsketoon from Panette, held on lease by Fryer, with a purchasing clause, has grown into a goodlooking colt and seems sure to do well. He is in the Derbies. Wotan has been working well and has improved greatly in appearance, showing character more in keeping with hie last Melbourne Cup performance and his breeding. International was badly placed in the early stages of his race at Awapuni last Saturday, but finished second to Taitoru. He is an improving horse and may pay his way on the trip. During Fryer's absence, which will extend until well into November, the rest of his team will be supervised by R. Fryer, who has previously been most successful with horses left in his charge. Friesland is still enjoying a spell in the paddock and is not likely to race before the big spring meetings. The Vaals—ldanoe colt Vadanoe has been brought in and is doing light exercise in preparation for the new season.

H. Mills has recommissioned Autumn Leaf after his spell. B. La Bouple has brought in his young horses to be handled. One is a bay colt rising two years by Illumination from Isotta, the latter from Iseult. Isotta is by Silva, a half-brother to Coalition by Sylvia Park. There is a shapely bay colt of the same age by Resinous from Red Gleam, dam of Gold Gleam, a yearling colt by Illumination from Gold Morn, and a halfsister by Acre to Silk Sox and Te Huia.
