Estimates for the Waikato Hospital, which have been approved by the Minister of Health, the Hon. P. Fraser, provide for a net expenditure as follows, Inst year's figures being given in parentheses:—Capital. £So4r> (£6198); maintenance, £«4.54 l (£53,575); total, £72,.-)S(i ( £.->!),774).
The levy on local bodies is allocated as follows:—Capital, £4022; maintenance, £34.789; total, £38,812. The (iovernment subsidy is as follows: — Capital, £4021; maintenance. £29.752; total, £;5;}.7"4 (compared with £27,690 in the previous year).
Hie cost per head of population in the Waikato is 14/11, compared with the Dominion average of 20/10.
The chairman of the board, Mr. J, J. Rybuni, remarked to-day that it was gratifying that the estinmtes had been returned unaltered.
