SERIOUS INJURIES.
MOTOR CAR CAPSIZED. TWO SENT TO HOSPITAL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HASTINGS, Wednesday. . The capsize of a motor car on the Napier-Taupo road this morning caused serious injuries to two of the occupants, Mr. and Mrs. H. Toogood, of Uavelock North. The large car in which Mr. and Mrs. Toogood were travelling, in company with their son-in-law, Mr. A. I) Gillies, of Hastings, was being driven by Mr. Toogood. After hitting a bank on the ■side of the road it capsized, rolling over several times before coming to rest some distance off the road. Difficulty was experienced in extricating the passengers, but this was done by passing motorists, «nd they were eventually brought into Napier to a private hospital by ambulance. Mr. Gillies escaped without injury. Mr. Toogood is suffering severely from shork, broken rilw and a fracture of the pelvis, while Mrs. Toogood received fractured ribs and scalp wounds.
The condition of both is regarded as serious.
