An easier tendency has developed iH( Bank of New Zealand shares, which sold yesterday afternoon at £2 4 8, and were quoted this morning limn £2 4/6 to £2 4 9. There was little inquiry for Australian banks at the ID o'clock u.ill. New Zealand Insurances seemed easier following the announcement of the final dividend, and liuycrs dropped their limits 6d, to £3 .", .'!. There was a good inquiry for a number of local industrials, and also for Australian issues. Yesterday's revival of interest in Taranaki Oils was maintained, and the scrip changed hands 5d higher, at .">/'> with a later market between 5/ and 5,. 2. Government stocks were again firmly held, the onlv parcel available being one of '43-'46 Bonds, for which £104 15/ was asked. With a scarcity of local body debentures, interest has been taken to outside lines, and parcels of Wanganui and Wellington Harbour Boards were on offer. Busier at Noon. Bidding was firm at the noon call, and quotations improved for a number of Australian issues. Broken "Hill Proprietary had the highest buying offer for some time, £4 1/G, with sellers (id above. Xew Zealands sold a Tittle lower, but Xew South Wales and Commercials were firm.
