The United Australia party's nominee. Mr. G. B. Grant, was defeated by 208 votes by an unofficial U.A.P. supporter, Mr. H. Mason, in a by-election for the Woollalira seat in the Xew South Wales Legislative Assembly, necessitated by the death of the Speaker, Sir Daniel Lew.
Air. Mason received 75 per cent of the preferences of yet another C.A.P. candidate, Mr. G. W. McDonald.
