TWO COMMISSIONS.
ELECTORAL REVISION.
FIXING NEW BOUNDARIES

Arrangements have been made for the Electoral Boundary Representation Commissions to start next week with the revision of electoral boundaries.
There are two commissions, one for the North Island and one for the South. The Minister in charge of the Electoral Office, the Hon. H. G. R. Mason, announced to-night that they would meet in Wellington as a joint commission on July 6, when they would fix a quota and allot the number of seats to each island, in accordance with the distribution of population revealed by the census last year. They separately would fix provisional boundaries in the two islands.
The undertaking is expected to occupy about three weeks. The sittings will be heldiin Wellington, but the South Island Commission will later visit Christchurcli to hear objections to the provisional boundaries fixed for the South Island electorates.
The personnel of the commission is as follows: —
North Island.—The Surveyor-General, Mr. H. E. Walshe; Mr. John Payne, Napier; Mr. Arthur Rosser, Auckland; the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Auckland, Mr. K. M. Graham; and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Taranaki, Mr. A. F. Waters.
South Island.—Mr. John Rigg, Christchurch; Mr. Harman Reeves, Dunedin; the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Canterbury, Mr. N. C. Kensington; the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Otago, Mr. F. H. Waters; and the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Westland, Mr. B. King.
