WOMEN'S AUXILIARY.

ASSISTING THE Y.M.C.A,

The young women's auxiliary of the Y.M.C.A. hold its first social function for this season in the conce. t hall of the Y.M.C.A. The evening was arranged to create funds for furnishing the young men's lounge and attracted nearly a hundred guests. The main attraction was Mr*. H. Trevelyan King, who, accompanied by Hits. McKinney, gave dramatic presentations of Maori folk songs, legends and j>oi dances. Supporting artists were Miss Joyce Jones, Miss Alys Moncur, a string band, and Mr. Alan McKlwain in humorous ' sketches. Mrs. Benions. accompanied the solos.

Miss Nancy Barker, vice-president of the auxiliary, introduced Mr. Caider Mackay, of the board of directors, as chairman of the gathering. Miss Ann Mcintosh was in charge of supper a rrangements.
