The Bureau of Statistics reports that Saskatchewan faces the worst crop" failure in history. Much wheat land is definitely beyond hope. Alberta depends upon an early arrival of the rains. Manitoba conditions are excellent.
Saskatchewan Government officials warn that the province is rapidly approaching an economic crisis through the crop failure diminishing fodder for the municipalities. The drought area is faced with critical conditions.
With their owners clamouring for the Government to aid their escape from starvation, thousands of cattle have been shipped to Manitoba and Alberta. The Dominion Government is considering an emergency grant amounting to millions of dollars.
