OBITUARY.
MRS. WILLIAM McWATTERS. The death hae occurred of a former well-known resident of Thames, Paeroa and Taumarunui, Mrs. Margaret Dauntless MeWatters, wife of Mr. William J. MeWatters, now of Birkenhead. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. McKenna, who afterwards lived at Waiotahi (Thames) and at Owharoa (Upper Thames), left their native town, Newry, Antrim, Ireland, and came out to New Zealand in the sailing ship Dauntless, on whieh she was born on the voyage in January, 1860. She was married at Thames in 1890. During her residence in those towns Mrs. MeWatters took a prominent part in the activities of the Presbyterian Church at Paeroa and Taumarunui. , Mrs. MeWatters is eurvived 'by a eon, Mr. Kenneth MeWatters (Kaitaia), and three daughters, Mesdamee E. B. Hillam, G. A. Stanford and E. P. Nisbet (Birkenhead). There are eight grandchildren.
