SOCIAL AND DANCE.
HUGH WRIGHT, LTD., WELFARE CLUB. The Catholic League rooms, Customs Street, were gaily decorated on Saturday. when the Hug-i Wright Limited Welfare Club gave an enjoyable dance and social evening. Iceland poppies in all shades were used in profusion, while floating over the guests were numerous strings of balloons, the whole effect being most colourful. Songs were given, by Miss J. Frost and Mr. Muir, and the Mayfair Boys' Quartet also rendered well-known items. During an interlude Mie-s Alma Phillips, the president of the club, was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers in recognition of the excellent work she has done during her presidency. The committee members present were: Mrs. Cummins, Misses A. Phillips, H. Sheffield and Z. Casey. • The guests were: Mesdames H. Wright. L. Bidwell, J. Dorrington, H. Blair, G. Barnes, M. McMalion, S.
