INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
LICENSE ALSO SUSPENDED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Where definite and serious evil exists, it niu<st be dealt with by the Courts with what power tTiey iia» c. said Mr. J. H. Luxford. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day in dealing with an intoxicated car driver. The defendant was Richard James Thomas Cowley. a«ed 49. a painter, who was sentenced to 21 days' imprisonment with hard labour. His license was also suspended, and he was prohibited from obtaining another till after Mav 31. 1939. It was stated that the defendant had had a conviction about ten years ago.
