BRILLIANT SERVICE.
Knights of Order of the
Garter. WINDSOR CEREMONIAL. (Received 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, June 14. A brilliant ceremonial, with Horse Guards and Grenadier Guards in full dress, marked a service held in St. George's Chapel, Windsor, and attended by 5000 people. Later, a procession of Knights of the Order, including the Dukes of Gloucester and Kent and Queen Mary, was held, with the King and Queen bringing up the rear. Their Majesties afterwards entertained knights and ladies of the Order at a State luncheon in the Castle.
It is understood that it is the King's intention, if his State duties permit, to visit the seaside camp at Southwold, Suffolk, which he founded as Duke of York, states a British official wireless message. The camp is attended every year by 200 boys from public schools and 200 from factories and workshops, who spend a week together.
The King and Queen made a State entry into Windsor yesterday afternoon. All along the route from London Their Majesties were cheered by large crowds and the streets of Slough, Eton and Windsor were densely packed by citizens and visitors who had begun to assemble early in the morning.
The King and Queen to-day received their Ascot Week house party at Windsor. It Includes the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, Princess Royal and the Earl of Harewood and others.
