ADMITTED TO PROBATION.

HAMILTON, Mondav.

The convention of a motor truck, valued at £400. the propcrtv of W. H. Best, of Xgaruawahia. to hU own use was admitted by Raymond Robinson, aged 18, in the Hamilton Police Court to-day. Accused also admitted the theft of four gallons of petrol. Mr. J. C. Taylor said accused took the torrry for fun at first, and then conceived the idea of driving it to National Park.

The magistrate, Mr. S. L. PatersonJ eaid that it wa« usual to deal with such cases by imprisonment. The offences were becoming far too common. In view of accord's youth and previous good character he would be admitted to probation for one year, one condition being that he paid £10 to the owner of the lorry and made restitution of the value of the petrol.
