OIL IN SUSSEX?
FIRST BORING COMMENCED. British Official Wireless. (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June C. m Lord Apsley, representing the Minister for Co-ordination of Defence, sent in motion at Grove Hill, Sussex, machinery for the first boring by the Anglo-American Oil Company in its efforts to discover oil in England. It was announced that the present drilling will be confined to only a few acres, but the company has a licensf for drilling on approximately 500 square miles, v It has lodged applications for new licenses covering a further 2200 square miles.
