CO-OPERATION WANTED.
APPEAL TO LOCAL BODIES. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) NAPIER, Saturday. An urgent appeal to all local bodies in Hawke's Bay to co-operate with the Government in proceeding with local national works that would absorb the total number of men on sustenance in the district was made in Napier this morning to a large and representative; gathering of local bodies by the actingMinister of Labour, the Hon. P. C. Webb.j The Minister appealed to. the distHct to, remove the stigma of sustenance from able-bodied men who were being wasted' on s»K.tenance while they could be em-j ployed in economic and useful work.
