GREY RIVER DREDGING., STATUTORY MEETING HELD. At the statutory meeting of the Grey River Dredging Company. Limited, in Wellington, tin- chairman outlined the. position of the company at date. Tho Kiniu Gold Dredging Company, lie stated, has si»b.--cribod. anil will pay for in cash. contributing shares, and in addition the 25n.000 contributing sharps offered to the public have been fully subscribed. The. contract to fabricate the steel, construct lh.> pontoon, erect the bucket line and sold savins equipment, and launch the completed dredse in the pond oil the ground, lias been let with .Messrs. Andersons Limited, of Christ church, who undertake to complete their work within ten months of tho arrival in Lyttelton of !»o per cent of the to*al steel required. A contract has been entered into with the Government of New Zealand to equip power lines to the dredse site and to supply the necessary power.. Mr. \V. Radford, general manager, in his report states that he see«s no reason at the present time why the. dredse and its machinery should not be fully equipped and assembled ready to commence digging operations by June, 1935. Big River Gold Mines, Limited (Iteefton). —Report for the period ending June 1, l'J37 :—No. 5 centre intermediate slope : I Going south the reef track is lying flat over into the footwail, where the stone has ] pinched to an average width of 12in, with i the stone in the face widening out. In ! the north end of the stope the average j width of the stone is about 2ft Win. No. 5 south intermediate: This was advanced 20ft through reef track carrying boulders and seams of stone. A hole bored into the hanging wall went sft oin into stone, the borings of which showed free gold. No. 5 south !eading stope: This has been carried along for 18ft with the stone showing an average width of sft. Sixty-two and a. half tons of stone were delivered to the surface bins.
