Mrs. Amelia (Earhart) Putnam hopped oflf from the airport here at 6.50 a.m. in continuation of her eastward round-the-world flight. She landed at Carapito, Venezuela, at 11.18 a.m. for refuelling. Weather is fair. ABANDONED AIR RACE. I I SUBSTITUTE FOR ATLANTIC. PARIS. June 2. The abandoned Atlantic air race i~ to be replaced by a race round the European capitals in August. Probal'y it will be restricted to the previous 22 entries.
