APPEAL RENEWED.
Marquess of Zetland Asks for Co-operation. INDIAN NATIONAL CONGRESS. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, June 2. A renewal of the appeal to the Indian National Congress to accent office and the responsibilities of Government was made by the Marquess of Zetland, Secretary for India, at a private meeting ,or Conservative members of Parliament. "I have abiding faith," said Lord Zetland, "in the great qualities, and in particular in the constructive genius," of the Hindu people. In the face of much discouragement I still believe they are destined to devote themselves to the service of India. Is it too much to ask that they should not spurn the i collaboration which Britain, in all sincerity, is offering to them ?
"Or, is it too much to ask that they, on their part, should not withhold the co-operation which Britain is asking from them in the common task which is not only worthy of the united efforts of the two peoples but, in the light of history, is their obvious destiny 1" PEACE MESSENGERS. NORTH-WEST TRIBESMEN. LONDON", June 2. The Simla correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" states that messengers from the Fakir of Ipi, seeking peace, have arrived from all sections of the Tori Khel tribe.
