DOMINION DISPUTE. BIG INCREASE WANTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Wajres and conditions of work for hotel workers throughout the Dominion were considered before the Conciliation Commissioner. Mr. S. Ritchie, by representatives of the New Zealand Federated Hotel and Restaurant Employees" Industrial Association of Workers and the employers. The employe-* claimed a 40-hour week, two full days" holiday a week and seven days' holiday on full pay after six months' service. They also claimed a substantial increase in wages. The employers asked for a 44-hour week and also presented an amended wages scale. The parties ajrreed that overtime be paid for at the rate of time and a half | for the first four hours and double time thereafter. For work done on special j days, such as Christmas Day. Boxing | Day and (Jood Friday, time and a half I rates are to be paid.
