Scheme to Promote Friendliness.

"There has been too much estrangement between the country and the town in the past," said the Hon. F. Lark, M.L.C., speaking yesterday at the inaugural gathering in connection with the educational week for country girls. "Anything that can be done to alter that state of affairs is the duty of any city council." Mr. Lark represented the Mayor, Sir Ernest Davis, who was unable to be present at the commencement of the reception.
