SPEEDED UP.
MAIN TRUNK TRAINS.
LIMITED TO LEAVE 7.15,
Faster train services between Auckland and Wellington, made possible with the 6pening of the new station at Wellington and the improved grade of the new Wellington-Tawa Flat section, will be put into operation from June 20. For both ordinary and limited expresses, the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, has announced shorter time schedules.
The Limited express from Auckland to Wellington will leave Auckland at 7.15 p.m. as from June 20, and will reach its destination 2(5 minutes earlier than it does at present. The Limited from Wellington will also leave at 7.15 and will arrive in Auckland at 9.30 instead of 9.40 a.m. The ordinary express will leave each terminal at 3 p.m. and will make the journev 42 minutes faster than present schedules allow.
A speeding up of the 7.10 New Plymouth express will result in a connection being made with the AucklandWellington Limited at Taumarunui, while the Taumarunui-Xew Plymouth train will connect with the WellingtonAuckland express. Connections will thus be provided to and from the main trunk stations south of Taumarunui with the thrice-weekly trains between Auckland and New Plymouth.
