OLD COMRADES MEET.
WOMEN EX-WAR WORKERS. j ■ ! ■ The first social evening of the season was held by the Old Comrades' Associa- | tion of Women Ex-war Workers in the; !■ Rest a While rooms on Tuesday, and ■ was an outstanding success. Minutes - of the two previous meetings were read I to give new members an idea of what ' was being done. The president, Mrs. j Kogers, welcomed all newcomers. i Community singing was the main ' | featui'e of the evening, many old war- '; time favourites being called for, and r Miss Jenkins as accompanist ablv full tilled her duties. Mrs. Newton sang a ■. song that brought back old memories to j the W.A.A.C. members. A sok> by Mrs. Parselow and recitation by Miss" MarI garet Keefe were other items of an • : informal programme. Mrs. Wise won ! the garden competition, and Mrs. White- , way the musical parcel. Mrs. McCombs, 1 who has just received the Coronation medal, wa-s present, and after supper e ' gave a short speech. The evening ended i, |on a very bright and optimistic note, n j with a feeling that this year the association would forge ahead.
