ENDEAVOUR IT'S PLIGHT.
NEW YORK, May 21
A telegram from Newport, Rhode Island, states that Mr. T. O. M. Sopwith's yacht Endeavour 11., challenger for the America Cup, broke her towline on May 14 and now is believed to be somewhere on the Atlantic slowly making her way to Newport alone under jury rig. The news was revealed yesterday when the yacht's convoy, Viva 11., arrived after a vain search for 40 hours. No alarm is felt for the 11 men on board the Endeavour.
