TO-DAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. AN IMPROVED TONE. INDUSTRIALS RECOVER. (By Telegraph.— Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, this day. With a fairly representative list of sales this morning values on Exchange moved U PBanks were practically unaltered, with a fair demand still coming for Nationals and Xew Zealands. The woollen section had no buyers, and sellers' limits showed fractional reductions. A generally improved tone was noted in miscellaneous industrials. Broken Hill Proprietary contributing rose to £3 10/. lully paids had a market between £1 2/ and £4 2/3, and buyers of Colonial Sugars at a; 45 17 6 could attract sillers no lower than £40 7 0. Coles moved up to a final market between £3 1(1/ and £5 10/6. Zincs made further recovery, the ordinaries finishing with a market 3d cither sido of the sale price of £2 17.0. Xew Zealand Newspapers had sellers at £1 l(/(i, and buyers £1 15/6. Shillings, Ltd., were firm. Dominion Fertilisers had a sale at £1 4/. Mining shares sold well, but most business was in at low prices, showing few changes from late rates. Morgans continued the upward movement after the recent relapse.
