FOURTH SERIES TO-MORROW

Two eete of speedy and spectacular backe will oppose each other when Ponsonby meet Mariut in the star attraction of the Rugby day at Eden Park to-morrow afternoon. The standard of play in the senior championship hag improved each Saturday, and with the fourth series scheduled for to-morrow further fast and interesting games are expected. With three wins to their credit, Poneonby expect to march on to another victoTy when they play Mariet. Supporters of Mariet, however, believe that their pack can told Ponsonby and that their backs, led by the two representative five-eighthe, Curtayae and Cooney, -will be faet and clever enough to carry the day. University and Technical College Old Boys will provide the curtain-raiser. Both sidee play open football and throw the ball about in attractive manner. On the Showgrounds oval Training College meet Manukau, and Training College are hopeful of being the first team to Tower Manukau's colours. G-iafton, who with Ponsonby and Manukau, head the championship table, play Otahiihu at Sturgee Park, and Otaihuhu are always a very hard team to beat on their home field.
