DOCTOR'S RUSH TRIP.

In order that his 41-year-old daughter, Patricia, might linvu the operation performed that would save her life, a New South Wales general practitioner, Dr. K. (_'. U'Hanlon, of Quirindi, recently mad# a rush trip to the United States, which necessitated the use of steamship, air and railway services. His trip was successful, and he is returning by the Mariposa with his wife and child, who is now recovering.
Patricia had developed a tumor in the brain, which Mas rapidly assuming serious proportions, and her father, Dr. O'Hanlon, decided that she needed the services of the world-famous brain surgeon. Dr. H. Noffziger, of .San Francisco. At the time the American Pacific Coast shipping strike was in progress, and a direct boat was not available. Dr. O'Hanlon, his wife and child, had to travel via Wellington to Panama, and from Balboa they flew to Mexico City, and thence travelled by train to San Francisco. The journey was completed in exact ly five weeks from Sydney. The operation was performed successfully. :ii'.d Patricia spent five weeks in hospital. Two weeks later she caught the Mnriposu with her parents, and is now progressing well.
