SALE OF FACTORY.
TAUPIRI DAIRY CONCERN. EFFECT OF ZONING SCHEME. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) PUKEKOHE, Friday. Arrangements have been completed for the sale of the Taupiri Dairy Company's Tnakau butter factory to a new concern, the Franklin Co-operative Dairy 1 Company, Ltd. The factory, which is a comparatively new and up-to-date unit, has been sold ns a going concern. It is reported that the new company, with a capital of £25,000, is in course of formation. "It has recently become obvious that this company would not long survive the zoning activities of the Commission of Agriculture, and suppliers have been greatly concerned at the probability of its being closed down, and of they themselves being sold under the machinery of the new Act for a period of three years to a rival concern," said a member of the provisional committee. "This feeling resulted in a largely-attended meeting of suppliers at Tuakau, the outcome of which was that an option to purchase was obtained from the Taupiri Company." ■ -,
