ANGLICANS AT PUKEKOHE. RESOLUTION ON ABORTION EVIL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) : .< PUKEKOHE, Friday. The vicar, the Rev. A. F. Prebble, presided over a large attendance at the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Andrew's Church, Pukekohe. The following officers were elected: Vicar's warden, Mr. G. Haslam; people's warden, Mr. W. T. Cheeseman; committee, Messrs. H. Curd, A. V. Fox, L. K. Brown, L J. Bayly, G. F. Payne, P. Mills, J. P. Carter, G. Weston, F. H. Hewitt and F. A. Hosking; sidesmen, Messrs. M. Lawson, F. Lawson, G. Johns, V. Curd, J. Davenport, J. Coughlin, L. Wise, M. Haslam, R. Parris and A. Pearsail; auditor, Mr. S. P. Day; secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. T. Cheeseman; central vestry, Messrs. A. V. Fox, L. J. Bayly, L. K. Brown, F. A. Hosking and V. Curd.

Short addresses were given by Archdeacon W. J. Sinikin and Mr. E. D. Wilkinson, the district's representative on the Diocesan Svnod.

The following resolution was carried unanimously: (1) That this annual meeting views with alarm the disclosures of the recent report of the committee of inquiry into abortion in New Zealand. and accords its wholehearted support of the action taken by the Archbishop and the clergy of the Diocese of Auckland in making overtures to the Government to deal drastically and urgently with the various aspects of the problem; (2) that this meeting pledges itself to support any ways and means by which the seriousness of the moral aspect may be brought home to the people and anything that is suggested to cleanse New Zealand of this scourge; (3) that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the Archbishop, the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health and the member of Parliament for Franklin.
