HOSPITAL AFFAIRS.
Tt is rather amusing to road of thiity-iiine medical men petting all liot and botheied over the last election of tlie honorary staff to the Auckland Hospital. They speak of bias in connection with tlic list election. Herbert Spencer, in his '"Study of Sociology." tells us of the "political bias." "the national bias." "the military bias."' and of its becoming very pronounced in select authority ill communal life. The hospital aiul doctors are distinctly a community unto themselves, and I am afraid a little bias lias crept into that community. But why thirty-nine doctors? Why not all the doctors of Auckland? Perhaps the depression being over they are too busy in this wonderful commercial age. It will be most disappointing if the Minister of Health and the Hospital Board recede to the request for another election of the honorary r-t:ifT. 1 fee! sure that great democrat, the Hon. I'eter Fraser. is averse to any more dictatorships arising, as is also the general public. IT. l-\ BREXCHbKY.
