NEW ZEALAND INSTITUTE.
At the annual general meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Institute of Public Administration, held in the Government Buildings, the following officers were elected:—Patron. Professor li. M. Algie; president, Mr. W. D. Armit, Commissioner of Crown Lands; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. S. Faire, District Public Trustee, W. G. Cooper, Chief Postmaster, H. W. Beaslev, District Engineer, N.Z.R.; secretary-treasurer, Mr. K. Hunn; auditor, Mr. H. Wylie; committee, Messrs. H. C. Eaves, J. Simpson, W. J. Litherland, E. C. Higgins, A. W. A. Sweetman, T. S. Roe, C'. G. S. Ellis.
The president., Mr. W. D. Armit, announced that the Institute of Public Administration in London had offered to supply copies of its journal at reduced rates. Correspondence was also received from the national executive in Wellington reporting progress in the direction of establishing a University diploma in public administration and publishing a journal. It was left to the incoming committee to arrange a series of lectures for the winter session. The meeting placed on record its appreciation of the services of Mr. J. P. P. CloHston. who relinquished the office o£ vice-president ori retiring from the position' of chief postmaster.
