TE RAPA TRIALS.
SEVERAL HORSES SCHOOL.

Among the features Of this morning's york at Te Rapa was the schooling of several horses with engagements ahead. No. 1 grass was available for fast work, and while nothing of Bote was recorded 6ome interesting work was performed. The going was nea.vy after recent rain, and a thick fog enveloped the course early, but when the mist cleared the sun came through and conditions were good for the remainder of the morning.
The first to work were Tosh (Gilmer) and Bryce Street (iMclLenzie), who came home oyer six furlongs in 1.20, the first three being cut out in 41s. Light Comedy (Bowden) and Sweet Lap (Goulsbro) hit out over six furlongs in 1.20 1-5, the final five occupying 1.8. Sweet Lap is on the improve. Trouvaille (Reilly) was under a nice hold to record 1.23 for eix furlong?. A useful half-mile was credited to Precise (McLaughlin) and Hopalong (McInaJly), who negotiated the distance in 52 3-ss. Boughal (Muir), who is bearing a well-trained appearance, worked at a strong three-quarter pace over a couple of rounds. Boughal will probably have hit next start at the Egmont meeting next month. Stormy Weather (Bowden) was doing better than Star Artist (Goulsbrot at the completion of five furlongs in 1-5. Stormy Weather did his task in good style. Tradesman (Really) was under a firm hold.in coming home from the «ixfurlong post in 1.22. He is bearing an improved appearance, and is appreciating the present conditions of the tracks. Sergia brushed over three furlongs in Red Fox (Reilly) and Winlona (Thomson) ran eix furlongs in 1.23 4-5. Sir Tommy (McKenzie), who looks well, was timed to run five furlongs in 1.7. Australian Star (Goulsbro) and Bright Moments (Bowden) were associated over half a mile in 52 4-ss. Mungacre (McLaughlin) and Diacquedoon (Gilmer) raß' once round, being joined by Vera Acre (Mclnally) at the seven-furlong post. The round occupied 1.58, and the final seven furlongs 1.35. Diacquedoon finished a couple of lengths in front.
Stanstead (Sullivan) jumped a hurdle in front of the stands satisfactorily, while Awhiohio (Sullivan) was also allotted a similar task.
Gadgcr (R. E. Thomson'* and Travelling Agent (Sullivan) wore schooled over fo" r hurdles, and pave a good display. Gadger showed marked improvement on <> w recent essays, taking his olistacles straight and cleanly, and revelling in his work.
An interesting bout over the steeplechase country was performed I>> Luciuus (Gilmer). Precise (R. Ferguson). Oase\ne (McLaughlin) and Golden .Jubilee (■• Ferguson). The quartet negotiated the sodwall by tlie halt"-m:le post, the hje brush and the sodwall at the toot ot the str.aight. All jumped rather i.irefulb. the best performance being that •>; Luciuii-~-who is (showing - aptitude in his department.
