t l BOY SAVED FROM RIVER. AUCKLANDER'S PROMPT ACTION. 'By Telegraph.—Own Correal ondent.t OPOTIKI, this day. A smart rescue from drowning was effected by Mr. W. H. Jenkinson, of Auckland, a representative of Messrs. Gordon and Gotch, at Opotiki wharf this morning. Mr. Jenkinson noticed a young Maori ' boy being washed down the river and plunged in and saved him in the nick of time. The boy recovered after treatment. —
