AIR PILOTS.
CANDIDATES INTERVIEWED. MEDICAL BOARD NOTICES. While no selections have been made, many young Aucklanders who have offered themselves as candidates for short service commissions in the Royal Air Force have received notices to attend a medical hoard for examination. Yesterday a number of candidates were before the committee, but it will be some time before all the interviewing is completed, as there are about 2500 applications for the 24 positions to be filled. The three members of the selection committee are Wing-Commander the Hon. R. A. Cochrane, Chief of Air Staff, and Wing-Commander T. M. Wilkes and Squadron-Leader L. 11. Isitt, Chief Staff Officers for Equipment and Personnel respectively. Wing-Commander Cochrane left for the South last evening, and to-day the two other members of the committee left for Xrtpier to interview candidates.
