ELDERLY CYCLIST INJURED.

VICTIM OF HIT-AXD-RUN DRIVER?

Whether Charles Peters, aged 65, who now lies in the Christchurch public hospital suffering from severe head injuries, was the victim of a hit-and-run motorist or whether he became suddenly ill and fell from his bicycle yet remains to be proved.

Mr. Peters, who lives at 10, Alexandra Street, Richmond, was found lying on the roadway in Bealey Avenue between the Madras and Barbadoes Streets intersections shortly before 9 o'clock ou Saturday evening. At present the indications are that Mr. Peters was knocked from his bicycle by a passing motor vehicle. His condition to-day is serious.
