Your Opportunity!

Once again an opportunity presents itieH to young people to develop their short story writing ability, for Peter Pan Has decided to offer a prize of 5/ every fortnight for the best short story submitted by any reader under 18 years of age. Many of our readers will remember the fortnightly short story competition that was conducted in these pages in the past. In those days a high standard of work was forthcoming from the ranks of young writers, talent which we know still exists.

Apart from the prize-winning entry, all stories that merit publication will appear in the Budget week by week. Point certificates for all published work, money prizes or other awards will be given. All stories, whether up to publication standard or not, will be criticised in the critique corner from time to time. This is your opportunity to see how you stand as a writer of short stories. Send in your attempt right away. Address entries to: Peter Pan, "Star" Office, Auckland, C.I, and mark the envelope "Short Story Competition" in the bottom left-hand corner. Entries too late for one fortnight's competition will be entered in the next batch.
