"ABOS" AND MAORIS.
SCIENTIST'S COLOUR FILMS. After spending some months in New Zealand in combined research and filming activities among the Maoris, Professor William Kirk, of the United States, hus now arrived in Queensland to make a first-hand study of the aborigines there and in North Australia. He plane to take moving pictures in colour of native ceremonials and corroborees of the less civilised cannibal, if they can be reached. He hopes to find these on Arnhem Land. He is being given facilities by the Government authorities to carry out his programme of scientific work. Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Pomona College, Claremont, California, Dr. Kirk has written works on the American Indians and the negroes, and has in mind a monograph on the Maoris and the Australian aborigines.
