METHODIST SOCIAL.

GLEN EDEN CHURCH.

There was a large gathering at the' Glen _ Eden Methodist Church, when a valedictory social was tendered to the Rev. V. Le Binet and Mrs. Binet. Mr. Biiiet was terminating a four years'i ministry at the Henderson and Glen Eden churches, to take over the circuit at Waiuku. The Rev. H. Sharp presided, and referred to the high esteem in which Mr. _ and Mrs. Binet were held by all sections of the community. Mr. Binet .was the recipient of a framed picture from the Sunday School, and a cheque presented on behalf of- the congregation by Mrs. A. Butterfield and Mr. A. J. Routley. Mrs. Binet was also the recipient of a beautiful bouquet.

A short programme of elocutionary items by Mr. and Mrs. S. Clegg, a song and sketch from Dickens by Mr. Clark, and an organ selection by the Rev. H. Sharp were presented.
