POTATO MARKET EASIER. WHITE CLOVER COMING IN. ' (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Deliveries of potatoes to boats recently nave shown some farmers are inclined to be careless over weights of bags. The limit is 1801b, and bates over that weight will not be handled. Orders have come in from the North Island, though business is not large. The market has weakened since increased interest at the beginning of the week, though talk of South American shipments is still general. Inquires from South America have been in hand for some time, but in the mam the prices suggested are not attractive, and no business with this quarter has been reported. Prompts are uuJJ, but there is some interest in MavJunes, which have been sold at lip to JS4. Tjp to April 3, 818 tons had been shipped to Auckland trom Lyttefton, and 2034 tons to Wellington. White clover is coming in steadilv, and the sample is fair. Extra choicc seed is scarce. A few lines of red clover have been offered, and the quality appears to - be fairly good. The market is not yet ' established, but merchants' ideas are i about 6d to /d. There is a area i under the crop this year, and the price i will depend on how threshing turns out Cocksfoot is still offering from the Penin- i suJa, and holders of light-weight seed * appear to be more ready to meet the t market.
