WEATHER FORECAST. FOR CITY AND PROVINCE. The Government Meteorologist issued to the " Auckland Star" this afternoon the following special weather forecast for the Auckland Province to as far south as Tauranga, Kawhia and Hamilton:— Moderate to strong north-easterly winds, changing shortly to southwesterlies. Weather unsettled and soma rain prouauie. Temperature* becoming cooler. Seas rough but later decreasing on the east coast and moderate on the west coast. A complex depression is still moving across the Dominion, but pressure has risen considerably over the western Tasman sea ana the southern portion of the South Island. FOR THE DOMINION. For 24 hours from 9 a.m. this day:— The indications are for moderate to strong north-easterly winds after about ten hours and backing by west to south. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled. Scattered rain probable. Later the weather will probably become colder. Barometer unsteady. Seas rough. HAURAKI GULF CONDITIONS. The following report of weather conditions in the Hauraki Gulf was received from Tiritiri Island at noon to-day:— Wind,,north-east, fresh; sea, rough; weather, fine, but eloudy and hazy; visibility, fair; barometer, steady.
