YEARLING SALES.
N.Z.-BRED HORSES SOLD. SYDNEY, March 30. Four lots from the Elderslie Stud were included in the annual yearling sales, which opened in Sydney to-day. A brown colt by Iliad from Dancing Lady was sold to Mr. W. Henderson, Sydney, for 700gs; a brown filly by Iliad from Refinement was sold to Mackinnon and Cox, Melbourne, for 425g5; a bay colt by_ Night Raid from Gracioea, to Mr. R. Trihey, Victoria, for 550gs; and a chestnut filly by Iliad from Lady Violet, to Mr. F. Keeley, Boorowa, for 300gs. Good prices were obtained for Heroic yearlings, the six colts offered realising 5275g5. Colts from Desdemona, Milan and Luminous changed hande at 1300, 1200 and ICiOgs respectively. There was keen demand for Vcilmonds. Mr. E. J. Watt paying 700gs for a colt from Peeka. A Marconigram colt from Steady Glass realised 850gs. New Zealand purchases included a Baralong—lmperial colt, bought by Dr. W. C. Ring, for 120gs; a Baralong—Torquay filly, by T. R. George, 65«5; a Simeon's Fort—Valeriante colt, by Mr. J. Jamieson. of Masterton, 350gs; a Caledon— Lady Rawson filly, by Mr. N. Wade, 60gs; and a Doric —Tamarzand colt, by T. R. George, 90ge; colt by Marconigram—Gigolettc, Mr. J. Jamieeon, 375 gig; filly by Rampion— Phillis Martian, New Zealand Loan and . Mercantile Agency Co., 200ge; colt by The Buzzard—Eaetern Belle, ■Messrs. Wright, Stepheneon and Co., Ltd., 220ge; colt by Ruffler—Lady Isobel, Mr. H. G: Hardcaetle, 60ge. The Veilmonds sold yesterday averaged 329g5, compared with slightly over lOOgs laet year. Good prices were paid for Bullhead's progeny, a colt from Esmeraula realising IOOOge, while a Tango Lass colt (brothe- to Pamelus) wae passed at 630gs.
