y - BIG COMPANY FOR NEW ZEALAND. Few theatrical companies in the past J have approached the magnitude of tlie Marcus Show, which will open a r Dominion tour at His Majesty's Theatre, t Auckland, on April 7. The company conf eists of 22 principals, 24 chorus girls, 30 r ballet dancers and 15 production execur tives, headed by Mr. A. B. Marcus. The I tour is being undertaken throughout New Zealand and, later, Australia, under coms bined auspices of the American organisers • of the company, Messrs. Leon S. Snider - and George B. Dean, and Sir Benjamin and Mr. John Fuller, of Australia. y Three complete variety revues in the >_ New York and Chicago style will be pre- '' sented by the company, which rates high among Broadway entertainment*!. The e first will be "La Vie Parisienne." which ' will be followed by "Fantaisies de J I'Orient" and "Revue Continental." Each consists of 30 scenes, more or less, with t about 12 special scenas of particular spectacular effect. Not a "girl show" in the generally accepted term, the come pany's entertainment is a rapidly-moving t i succession of highly-developed and -1 lavishly-produced variety acts, sketches, !. ; poses, tableaux, musical and comic items, n I The main quantity of the company will e arrive on the Aorangi on April 4. Special j | accommodation has to be arranged in _ I Auckland and Wellington well in advance ® : in view of the size of the personnel.
