With the approach of the holiday season turnover on the Auckland Stock Exchange is casing off perceptibly. At this morning's call there was no business in Australian issues, and bidding for these was quiet. Broken Hills were offered 6d lower, at £4 9/, without response from buyers. Buyers came in for Electrolytic /inc at £3 2/ for tlie ordinaries and £3 3,'U for the preferences. Dunlops had a slightly better market-between £1 0/2 and £ 1 0/6, and Morris, Hedstroms were firm, with buyers at £1 10/6 and no sellers. In the banking section E., S. and A.'s sold 3d higher, at £6 10/6, with more available at that price. Sew Zealands weakened, and after a sale 6d lower at £2 3/, .the market rested betw-een £2 2/6 and £2 ' laupiri Coal shares were again in demand at 16/, and a seller came in at 18/ In the unlisted class Silknits were firm, buyers moving up to £3 2/6, with sellers at £3 In/. Government stocks were quiet, but there was fair business in local body debentures. Steady at Noon. At the noon call Commercial Banks were firmer with a market between 19/6 and 19/8, and a buyer came in for .Nationals at £3 5/. Consolidated Bricks were weaker, with sellers at 9/8 and buyers od below. A parcel of Morris, Heclatrotns became available at £1 11/. Silknits were again in firm request, and a < buyer moved up to £3 5/, with sellers steady at £3 15/. In the mining section Alexanders had their first sale since last July, gaming 6d in the interim.
