BRITISH SERVICE ?

iDpMPiillY BE FORMED.

fJORTBt >AMERfCA - AUSTRALIA WELLINGTON, Sunday. It is generally believed in New Zealand political circles that a strong financial company, representing; various British countries interested in Pacific aviation, will be formed in the near future, with a view to inaugurating a commercial service between North America and New Zealand and Australia.

The agieement between the New Zealand Government and Pan-American Airways, as it was originally, signed, provided that any British person or company desiring to operate a transPacific air service during the term of the agreement could apply to the United States Government for permission to alight at a place regularly used by American commercial aircraft, the prior approval of the New Zealand Government having been communicated to Pari , - Ajmerican Airways. The New Zealand Government ha« the right to. give 12 '.months' notice of the termination of the agreement with Pan-American, Airways if; permission for landing facilities is not granted to a British applicant within three months or any othcr&reasonable period. The agreement cari;&.bjjjf terminated--, without any right on the part of "Pa'ii?.Ainerlcan' Airways, to make claims for compensation or damages.

,lt is pointed out, however, that this provision, which wae included when the agreement w*e^fifßt- ; eigaed iri 1035, besecured office,, has not the authority of the Government of the United States of America trJUlid it.
