SECOND TEST MATCH.
SUCCESS OF AMERICANS.
CLOSE OF THE SEASON.
Despite the absence of the broadsiding fans' idol, Putt Mossman, who is in Australia, there was a good attendance at the final meeting of tfhe Auckland Speedway Club, held at the Western Springe Stadium on Saturday night. The result of the second series of races between American and local riders was an easy win for the visitors by 32 points to 15. In a special challenge match event between A. Mattson and R. Grant, held over three laps from a rolling start, Mattson was -winner of the first race after a thrilling struggle, while Grant won the second, and the final was pronounced a dead heat. The times were 58 4-ss, 61s and 59 l-5s respectively. The fastest time of the season, 1.16 1-5, was returned by Mattson in ,the fifth heat of the test match. The result of this race was particularly gratifying to the crowd, as
their favourite had been twice beaten earlier in the evening:. Results:— SECOND TEST MATCH. Firet Heat.—B. Grant 1, 1.. Wilson 2, A. Mattson 8.
