(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHI, this day. A miner named Thomas Robinson, aged 35, a single inaa, when preparing charges in the Martha mine this morning, had the misfortune to lose the first ringer of his right hand, and to suffer severe lacerations of the middle finger. The accident was caused by an explosion when Robinson was in the act of extracting detonators from an ammunition box after preparing several charges.
