DISCHARGE BOOK STOLEN.
A thief who ransacked the cabin of a steward aboard the linera Mariposa when she was in port yesterday took, among a number of small articles, the steward's discharge book. As American stewards, as well as seamen, have to produce their discharge books when applying for jobs, his book is to the steward a greater loss than any of the other articles that were taken.
