GOLFER NOT LIABLE. LONDON', March 18. The British professional poller Archi* Competon figured in a raur in the U» courts to-day when the judge derided that he wan not liable to pay income tax on his winnings from golfing Lets. Counsel for the Revenue Department admitted that the winnings of an ordinary person could not he ta.\ed, hut argued that Compwton's were made in the course of his vocation. The judge said Conijigton must instruct if people asked him, but betting w *i entirely a matter of his own volition
