The best wool season on record for Vuckland pastoralists has now been inalisid with the posting of cheques for lie third sale held on March 5.

Returns made available this morning by Mr. L. P. Connor, secretary of the \inkland Wonlbrokers" -Association, -how that tlie estimates formed on the lay of the sale have been fully realised. I'he total amount of the cheques £475,423 brings the season's total to • '\er one and a half million pounds, easily the biggest yield to date from the sheep's fleece in the Auckland province. This handsome result has been due to a world shortage of the raw material and once again the wotl has asserted its position as king of the textiles. Notab!e features in the season that has just closed we e the fine stimulus •jiven to the first fixture with which Auckland set the ball rolling for the dominion by keen bidding on behalf of .'apanese firms and the avidity with hich Bradford and Continent operators ook up the running at later sales when ihe Japanese had eased off. Clearance At Last Sale. Details supplied by the Woolbrokers' Association show that at the last sale almost a total clearance was effected. Of 22,303 bales offered 22,265 were sold, three of the five brokers operating recording a 100 per cent clearance. The total weight of the wool sold was 7,673,1091b. total value £475,423 3/5.
